Update from 4.3.0 to 4.3.3?
I have AIX 4.3.0 installed and want to get the latest 4.3 updates installed. I try to install all the updates from IBM's 'fix support delivery center' web site, but it complains that I have to be at 4.3.3.0 or later to install the fixes. Do I have to reinstall to go from 4.3.1 to 4.3.3, or is there a way to just apply updates to get to the latest level? Where can I get 4.3.3? Never mind, got my hands on an AIX 4.3.3 CD set and all is well.Russ wrote:> I have AIX 4.3.0 installed and want to get the latest 4.3 updates > installed. I try to install all the updates ...

problem with KDE 3.4 and QT 3.3.4
Hello,I have recently felt the need for a specific application under KDE anddecided to install it on one of our machines at work.I can't access this NG from work so I'll try to be as precise as I canbut I might forget something.OK, here is my problem.I needed to install the new version of QT, but I still needed topreserve the one installed on our network (/usr/local is actually asymbolic link to a directory where all our machines access). For that Icreated a new '/usr/local.org' (this one being physically on mymachine) and compiled QT 3.3.4 in /usr/local.org/qtXX...
Template construction in old gcc 3.3.3 does not compile in gcc 3.4.4
Hello! Below is a snippet that compiles in 3.3.3, but not in 3.4.4.Obviously, this is a result of the (laudable) efforts to make gcc morestandards-compliant. Any way to get around this? gcc 3.4.4 complainsthat x is undeclared in the template definition. Thanks,Andrew Steiner-----------------------------------------------------------------------#include <iostream>using namespace std;class parent {public: parent() { x=3.0; }; double x;};template<class parent_t> class child : public parent_t {public: void test() { cout << x << endl; }...
Matlab 2008a, mex and gcc 4.3.3
Hi everyone,I'm currently running Matlab 2008a on openSUSE 11.0 (x86_64) with gcc version 4.3.3 installed. I have a mex C++ file I need to compile, and I've been having trouble compiling it with the gcc I have - when I run the compiled mex file, Matlab just exits and gives some kind of backtrace.I know that Matlab technically doesn't support any gcc after 4.2.0, but I've heard that it is possible to change some settings/set up some links and have gcc 4.3.3 work fine with Matlab. I was wondering if anybody knows how to do this? I would be greatly thankful for any help you co...
